Syracuse, NY -- (Sports Network) - Johnny Flynn scored a game-high 27 points to lead the Syracuse Orange to a 76-71 win over the Richmond Spiders in second round action of the CBE Classic at the Carrier Dome. Eric Devendorf also added 22 points for the Orange (2-0), while Arinze Onuaku chipped in with 17 points and six rebounds in the win. David Gonzalvez paced the Spiders (1-1), scoring 18 points on 4-of-6 shooting from beyond the arc. Kevin Anderson also got involved, scoring 15 points, while Justin Harper and Kevin Smith tallied 13 and 10 points, respectively. Richmond got off to a fast start, shooting 7-of-12 from three-point range in the first half to take a 38-31 lead at the half. The Orange stormed back in the second stanza, shooting 60 percent from the floor and 10-of-16 from the foul line, en route to a 76-71 victory. Syracuse was physical in the paint, scoring 38 points in the post, while out- rebounding the Spiders 36-28 on the night.
