GAME NOTES: The TCU Horned Frogs get a four-game homestand underway tonight, as they host the Nebraska Cornhuskers in a non-league bout at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum. The Frogs began their season in the Charleston Classic, where they finished just 1-2. TCU opened the tournament and its season with a 67-63 win over Western Michigan before falling to Clemson (70-58) and most recently the College of Charleston (86-75) on Sunday. The slow start shouldn't come as a big surprise though, as the Frogs return just two starters from a team that finished 14-16 a season ago. As for Nebraska, it has played just one game thus far and that resulted in a 63-46 victory over San Jose State on Sunday. It was the 26th straight home non-conference win by the Huskers, who are playing their only road game of the month tonight. Nebraska returns two starters and some key reserves from last season and are expected to compete for a second straight 20-win campaign. The Huskers lead the all-time series with TCU, 3-2, but the teams haven't met since 1999.

The Huskers were stout on defense in their opener, as they forced 25 turnovers, while holding SJSU to a sub par 36.0 percent shooting effort from the floor. Nebraska did its damage from beyond the arc, where it went 8-of-21 in the win. Freshman Toney McCray led the charge, as he netted 17 points and pulled down nine rebounds in 23 minutes of action off the bench. Ryan Anderson chipped in with seven points and Steve Harley had four points and six boards. Both players were contributors last season for Nebraska, with Anderson averaging 8.4 ppg and Harley 9.1 ppg.

After three games, TCU is averaging 66.7 ppg behind 43.5 percent shooting from the field. Edvinas Ruzgas currently leads the team in scoring with 15.7 ppg and he is also pulling down 4.7 rpg and shooting 40.9 percent from long distance. Kevin Langford is also off to a solid start and he is contributing 13.0 ppg and 4.3 rpg. In the team's last game, Langford poured in 27 points and grabbed seven caroms, but it wasn't enough for the Frogs in a loss to the College of Charleston on Sunday. Ruzgas added 12 points and five boards for TCU, which converted 19-of-23 free-throw attempts in the game. The Frogs though, played poor defense and that proved costly, allowing the CofC to shoot 54.1 percent from the field.

The Frogs appear to have a few more scoring threats than Nebraska and that should help them pick up the victory on their home floor tonight.

Predicted Outcome

TCU 60, Nebraska 55
