NCAA Game Summary - Clemson Vs. Hofstra

(Sports Network) - Trevor Booker recorded a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds, as the Clemson Tigers handled the Hofstra Pride, 98-69, in the first round of the inaugural Charleston Classic at the Carolina First Center.

Terrence Oglesby had 15 points and three steals for the Tigers (1-0), who will take on TCU in the winner's bracket on Saturday. Raymond Sykes added 13 points and seven boards, while Tanner Smith scored 11 of the bench. K.C. Rivers rounded out the double-digit scorers with 10 points.

Charles Jenkins led the way for Hofstra (0-1) with a game-high 21 points and five assists. Zygis Sestokas made 4-of-9 three-pointers and finished with 14 points off the bench, while Cornelius Vines contributed 12 points and three steals. The Pride will take on Western Michigan in the consolation round on Saturday.

Clemson opened the game with a 15-3 run and it carried a 39-24 lead into the break.

The Tigers converted on 18-of-24 free-throw attempts over the final 20 minutes, as they cruised to the 29-point victory.

Clemson forced 23 turnovers, in addition to holding Hofstra to a dismal 31.8 percent shooting performance from the field.
