NCAA Game Summary - Northeastern At Holy Cross

(Sports Network) - Tim Clifford poured in contest-high 26 points and grabbed five boards, as the Holy Cross Crusaders defeated the Northeastern Huskies, 61-47, as part of a BracketBaster event at the Hart Recreation Center in Worcester.

Greg McCartny added 11 points and six boards for Holy Cross (15-11), which won for the fourth time in five games.

Eugene Spates guided the Huskies (12-15) in the loss with 12 points and five rebounds. Matt Janning chipped in with 11 points, as Northeastern suffered its third loss in a row.

The Crusaders knocked down 56.0 percent of their field goals over the first 20 minutes of play, carrying a 32-21 lead into the break.

In the second half, Holy Cross shot an even better 61.1 percent from the floor, as it captured the 14-point victory.

The Crusaders clamed down on defense in this one, limiting Northeastern to a dismal 28.8 percent shooting effort from the field.
