Syracuse F Greene To Enter NBA Draft

POSTED: 2:59 pm CDT April 9, 2008

(Sports Network) - Syracuse University guard Donte' Greene declared himself eligible Wednesday for the upcoming NBA draft.

Greene, who completed his freshman season for the Orange, ranked fourth in the Big East with 17.7 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. He earned second-team all-conference honors for the campaign and joined teammate Jonny Flynn on the All-Big East rookie squad.

"After discussing my future plans with my family and Coach (Jim) Boeheim, I've decided to declare for the NBA draft," Greene said. "The Syracuse coaching staff is going to gather information on my behalf and help me begin that process."

Greene also established a school record with 90 three-point field goals for Syracuse, which finished the season 21-14 and fell to Massachusetts in the NIT quarterfinal round.
