POSTED: 3:49 pm CST November 29, 2008

(Sports Network) - Swayze Waters knocked through five field goals to account for all of the scoring in UAB's 15-0 win over UCF in Conference USA action at Bright House Networks Stadium.

Waters booted field goals in every period, hitting two in the second, as the Blazers (4-8, 3-5 CUSA) won for the second time in the last three outings. Quarterback Joe Webb converted 20-of-28 for 244 yards to help keep drives alive for UAB and Waters.

As for the Knights (4-8, 3-5), Brynn Harvey covered 90 yards on 15 carries coming out of the backfield, while Joe Weatherford completed 12-of-26 passing for 99 yards, but was picked off twice.

Except for the first scoring opportunity for Waters when he converted a 40- yard effort at the 3:25 mark of the first quarter, each of the drives measured at least 10 plays in length, which is how the Blazers ended up controlling the ball for almost 42 minutes yet never made it into the end zone.

In the second frame Waters connected on kicks of 43 and 22 yards to give UAB a 9-0 advantage at the break.

In the third quarter it was a 36-yard field goal that capped a 10-play, 61- yard drive for the Blazers, while the final scoring drive of the contest ate up more than seven minutes and concluded with a 28-yard effort by Waters at the 4:36 mark of the fourth period.

UCF finished the afternoon with just 209 yards of total offense.
