Eugene, OR -- (Sports Network) - Jeremiah Masoli threw for a career-best 298 yards and scored five total touchdowns to lead the Oregon Ducks in a wild 55-45 victory over the Arizona Wildcats in Pac-10 play at Autzen Stadium. Masoli completed 21-of-26 pass attempts with two touchdowns, while also leading the Ducks (8-3, 6-2 Pac-10) with 89 rushing yards and three more scores on 10 carries. LeGarrette Blount added 75 yards and a touchdown on nine carries for Oregon, which amassed 206 rushing yards as a team. Keola Antolin guided Arizona (6-4, 4-3) in defeat with 87 yards and four touchdowns on 20 carries. Willie Tuitama completed 29-of-45 pass attempts for 328 yards and two touchdowns, but he was also picked off twice. His main target was Rob Gronkowski, who pulled down 12 passes for 143 yards and a touchdown. The Ducks jumped out to a 14-0 lead less than two minutes into the game, as Masoli scampered 66 yards to paydirt before Patrick Chung returned an interception 31 yards for a touchdown. Arizona countered with a 29-yard field goal by Jason Bondzio and a two-yard touchdown run from Antolin. With just 25 seconds left in the opening period, Oregon pushed its lead to 21-10 behind a 44-yard scoring strike from Masoli to Terence Scott. Masoli scurried five yards for a score early in the second quarter and the Ducks led, 28-10. The Wildcats answered just over two minutes later with a 37-yard touchdown pass from Tuitama to Chris Gronkowski. The Ducks, however, scored 17-straight points to close out the first half with a 45-17 lead. Masoli got the spurt started with a six-yard run to paydirt before throwing a 65-yard touchdown pass to Jeff Maehl. On the last play of the half, Morgan Flint booted a 23-yard field for Oregon. Flint opened the second-half scoring with a 39-yard field goal. With just under nine minutes left in the third quarter, Arizona went on a run that saw it score 28-unaswered points. Rob Gronkowski first pulled in a seven- yard touchdown pass from Tuitama before Antolin scored three straight rushing touchdowns in the fourth period. Ahead just 48-45, the Ducks were able to put the game away with a 40-yard touchdown run by Blount with just over three minutes remaining. Arizona outgained Oregon 527-504, in the game, but committed three turnovers compared to just one by the Ducks.
