Norman, OK -- (Sports Network) - Sam Bradford threw four touchdown passes, and fifth-ranked Oklahoma rose to the occasion to keep its national championship hopes alive, while dashing Texas Tech's title aspirations with a 65-21 blowout of the No. 2 Red Raiders. Chris Brown ran for 108 yards and three scores, and DeMarco Murray had 125 yards and a pair of touchdown runs as the Sooners (10-1, 6-1 Big 12) moved into a three-way tie with Texas Tech and Texas atop the Big 12 South standings. Bradford, who completed 14-of-19 passes for 304 yards, continues to be one of the front-runners for the Heisman Trophy, but the bigger issue is where Oklahoma will be placed when the new Bowl Championship Series standings are released Sunday. The Sooners went into the game fifth in the BCS, behind Alabama, the Red Raiders, Texas and Florida. Oklahoma's lone loss this season came to Texas, 45-35, at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas. The Red Raiders (10-1, 6-1) came into the game ranked third in scoring offense in the nation at 47.9 points a contest, but Oklahoma's defense bottled up Graham Harrell early on while building a 42-7 halftime cushion. Not only that, but Texas Tech's defense had plenty of holes as denoted by a 299-45 advantage in rushing yards for the Sooners. "I think tonight proved that when we are balanced, we are a really hard team to stop," said Bradford. "I have to give credit to those guys up front because they played amazing tonight. They gave me time to sit back there and find the open receivers, our offensive line has played great all year but I think they are the reason we played like we did tonight." Harrell connected on 33-of-55 passes for 361 yards and three scores but the Red Raiders, who came in riding the nation's longest winning streak at 12 games, were no match for the high-powered Sooners. Standout wide receiver Michael Crabtree was limited to six catches for 62 yards. Texas Tech hosts Baylor next Saturday. Assuming the Red Raiders win that game, they would have to wait for the outcome of the Oklahoma-Oklahoma State game that night. An OSU win against OU would hand the Red Raiders the South title. Texas, which is still in the mix, plays Texas A&M Thanksgiving night. "It will be a big game for us and we will have our hands full with those guys," said Brown. "Going up to Stillwater is a tough place to play. But we have the drive and we are ready for it." A win in this game would have given the Red Raiders their first Big 12 South Division title since the inception of the league in 1996. It was a similar setting in 2002. Texas Tech entered that season's game at OU with a shot at winning the division, but suffered a 60-15 setback. "Against a team like Oklahoma you can't squander plays and if you are going to squander plays like we did today, it's going to be awfully difficult (to win)," said Texas Tech coach Mike Leach. Missouri has already won the Big 12 North division and has clinched a spot in the December 6 conference title game. If Texas Tech, Texas and Oklahoma finish in a tie, the BCS standings will determine which team will play in the conference championship game. "Now we're in the mix with everybody and, with the way we played. you would think ahead," said Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops. "If you can't move us in front of Texas because they beat us, then you have to keep Texas Tech in front of Texas. If it's logical for one, it's logical for the other. If you're going to forgive other teams with one loss because they're playing well now, well we're playing pretty well now too. If it's logical for someone else it's logical for us. We're in it with everybody." The Sooners blasted their way to a 42-7 lead at the half and kept rolling in the final 30 minutes as they notched their 24th straight home victory, one shy of the team record, that was snapped in 1953. Of Oklahoma's first seven drives, six ended in touchdowns. Murray scored on a one-yard run to the right side for a 7-0 contest with 8:59 left in the first quarter. Amazingly, that was the lone score of the opening quarter, but Brown scored from three yards out early in the second. Harrell then drove the Red Raiders to the Oklahoma 15. Texas Tech went for it on 4th-and-3 and Harrell's desperation shovel pass fell incomplete. Bradford hit Jermaine Gresham with a 19-yard TD pass with nearly 11 minutes left in the half. The Red Raiders gambled again, but failed on a fourth down pass near midfield, and Bradford worked well with the short field, completing a 28-yard TD pass to Juaquin Iglesias. Texas Tech finally got on the scoreboard on Harrell's 25-yard scoring strike to Tramain Swindall, but Oklahoma got a four-yard TD run from Brown and a one- yarder from Murray with just 18 seconds left in the half. The latter score came after Travis Lewis picked off Harrell and returned the ball 47 yards to the two. OU's Jimmy Stevens kicked a 33-yard field goal early in the third, and after the Red Raiders' Shannon Woods fumbled the ball away, Brown plunged in from two yards away for a 52-7 margin. Harrell found Eric Morris on an 11-yard TD pass later in the third, but Bradford hooked up with Manuel Johnson from 66 yards away for another score. Bradford's final TD toss came early in the fourth, a 26-yarder to Ryan Broyles. Detron Lewis caught a 27-yard TD pass from Harrell with 11 seconds remaining.Game Notes:The Sooners are 60-2 at home under Stoops and have won 44 of their last 45 home games...Oklahoma leads the all-time series, 12-4 including a 7-1 advantage in Norman...The Sooners eclipsed the 50-point plateau for the eighth time this season and scored 40 or more for the ninth time in 2008. Both numbers marked school records...This was Oklahoma's largest margin of victory over a top-five opponent...The Sooners are 31-12 against ranked squads under Stoops.
