ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich. -- Dozens of girls were kicked out of class at a Michigan school for revealing too much leg.WDIV-TV in Detroit reported that members of the Lake Shore girls powder puff team spent the day out of class and in detention because the school claimed their outfits were a little too risque and showed too much leg.The dress code for the St. Clair Shores school says skirts and shorts have to go to the knee. Half the team was in violation for wearing spandex and tights. The superintendent for the district said the female football players knew about the dress code because they signed a form, along with their parents, agreeing to follow school rules to play in the game. The girls said it was all in good fun and just to show school spirit.Haleigh Sluschewski said, "I was in the house all the day because of this. No skin is showing. I don't see anything wrong with it."Superintendent Christopher Loria said, "You can't see her skin, but Haleigh's shorts are still too short for the Lake Shore School District."Officials said spandex and tights don't count when it comes to covering up thighs.Powder puff players said they remember the contract, but didn't think it was serious. Some girls were given spare sweat pants found in the gym to wear. Others put on jeans after calling parents to bring clothing to them.School officials let the girls play in Wednesday's game, but said that the next time they might not be so lenient.
