Twins Scratch Perkins From Start

POSTED: 10:43 pm CDT July 8, 2009

(Sports Network) - The Minnesota Twins scratched pitcher Glen Perkins from Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the New York Yankees due to a fever.

Right-hander Anthony Swarzak (2-3) started in Perkins' place and took the loss after giving up four runs on eight hits in 4 1/3 innings.

Swarzak rejoined the rotation in the place of Kevin Slowey, who is on the 15- day disabled list due to a strained right wrist. Swarzak was originally slated to start Thursday.
