Team USA hockey coach says players will stand for anthem or sit on bench

Coach's son is member of Army Rangers

Team USA Hockey Coach John Tortorella made his opinion of Colin Kaepernick's recent decision not to stand for "The Star-Spangled Banner" known by telling his team there will be consequences if anyone tries the same, The Washington Post reports.

"If any of my players sit on the bench for the national anthem, they will sit there the rest of the game," Tortorella said ahead of the World Cup of Hockey.

Tortorella coaches the Columbus Blue Jackets during the NHL season, and his son, Nick, is a member of the Army Rangers.

"I know these are hockey games," said Tortorella, "but I do look at it like it's for my country."
