NBA Game Summary - Utah At Sacramento

POSTED: 1:41 am CST December 3, 2008

(Sports Network) - Kyle Korver scored 15 points off the bench to lead the Utah Jazz to a 99-94 victory over the Sacramento Kings.

Paul Millsap added 13 points, 11 rebounds and five assists for the Jazz, who have won four of their last six games. Deron Williams and Ronnie Brewer scored 14 points each, with Williams also dishing out seven helpers.

Kevin Martin, who missed the past 12 games with an ankle injury, poured in a game-high 22 points for the Kings, who have dropped seven straight. Brad Miller ended with 18 points and nine boards, while Spencer Hawes logged 14 points, seven boards, six assists and three steals in defeat. Beno Udrih notched 17 points and four assists.

Trailing by five, Utah scored 11 consecutive points to take a 77-71 lead with 7:16 left in the game. Millsap's layup sparked the run and Ronnie Price's jumper closed it out.

Moments later, down by four, a Hawes three-point play made it 83-82.

The teams traded baskets and a 2-of-2 showing from the charity stripe by Quincy Douby gave the Kings an 88-87 lead with 1:45 remaining.

The lead see-sawed and Utah was up by one as Douby air balled a three from the right wing, which led to a Williams jumper, giving the Jazz a 93-90 lead with 32 ticks showing on the clock.

"I think that fourth quarter was great for my confidence. I just have to get back into my mode of being aggressive," said Williams.

Miller missed a layup and Mehmet Okur grabbed the rebound and was fouled with 13.8 seconds left. He hit 1-of-2 from the line to make it a four-point game and Millsap hauled in the rebound off the miss to effectively seal the deal.

"It is the same as the last game, we will learn from it and try and take the positives and move forward," said Hawes. "There are not a lot of happy faces in here (the locker room). No one is going to be accepting. You sometimes find that on teams that have records that are less than they would like to be and the thing is some people start accepting it."

The Kings led 24-20 after the first quarter, but trailed 39-38 at the break.

The teams stayed even for the third quarter, until Udrih nailed a three with 6:07 left to give the Kings a 55-52 advantage. The shot also set the tone for an 8-0 Kings run.

Bobby Jackson hit three foul shots on the run and Udrih drained a jumper to close it out with about 4 1/2 minutes left to make it 60-52.

The Jazz battled back to cut it to 66-64 heading into the fourth quarter.

Game Notes:

The Kings shot 5-of-17 (29.4 percent) from three-point range. The Jazz were 3- of-13 (23.1 percent) from behind the arc...Utah forward Andrei Kirilenko didn't play due to an ankle injury...Sacramento has lost seven straight at ARCO Arena, which is just one shy of the team record.
