T'wolves C Collins Undergoes Successful Surgery

POSTED: 5:26 pm CDT September 11, 2008

(Sports Network) - Minnesota Timberwolves center Jason Collins underwent successful surgery to repair a partial rupture of the triceps tendon in his right elbow.

Dr. David Auerbach of the Southern California Orthopedic Institute performed the procedure on Monday, and Collins is expected to be sidelined for the next eight weeks.

Collins, the 18th overall selection of the Houston Rockets in the 2001 NBA Draft, holds career averages of 4.3 points per game and 4.8 rebounds per game.

The Stanford product was acquired by the T'Wolves via a June 26, eight- player, draft night trade with the Memphis Grizzlies that also landed Kevin Love, Mike Miller and Brian Cardinal to Minnesota.
