How You Can Help?

The Twin Cities Red Cross and the Memorial Blood Centers are asking for blood donations. While there are enough blood supplies to cover immediate needs, donations will help replenish supplies and ensure that the right blood products continue to be available for patients in the future.

Financial donations by both organizations are also appreciated.


To Donate Blood


People who want to help by donating blood are being asked to make appointments.

  • Red Cross: To make an appointment, call 1-800-GIVE LIFE (448-3543) or visit the Red Cross Web site.
  • Memorial Blood Centers: To make an appointment, call 1-888-GIVE-BLD between 9am & 9pm or make an appointment online.


To Donate Money


  • Memorial Blood Centers accepts financial donations over the phone, through the mail, and online. To learn how to make a gift, call 651-332-7000 or visit the Memorial Blood Centers Web site.
  • The American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund is accepting donations specifically for the Minneapolis bridge collapse. To learn how to make a gift, call 612-460-3700 or visit them online.
