President Tours Bridge Collapse

President George W. Bush is in Minneapolis today to tour the damage left behind by the I-35W bridge collapse.

The president arrived in St. Paul shortly after 9 a.m. He then hopped onto the Marine 1 helicopter for an aerial tour of the bridge collapse.

Bush met with some of the rescuers, first responders and families. He will also visit with members of the Red Cross who have been helping rescuers and victims.

During a brief speech, Bush thanked the community for its quick action in the wake of the collapse.

The president is expected to remain in the Twin Cities for about three hours.
