Detroit, MI -- Green Bay Packers wide receiver Javon Walker could be lost for the season due to an torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee suffered in Sunday's season-opening loss at Detroit. The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reported that team physician Patrick McKenzie told head coach Mike Sherman that Walker tore his ACL in Green Bay's 17-3 defeat to the Lions. It was in the third quarter that quarterback Brett Favre hit Walker for a 55- yard pass play, which was nullified by a penalty. Walker, who was flagged for pass interference, suffered a right knee injury on the play and didn't return. He was carted to the locker room. "It was an ACL from what I understand," Sherman said after the game. "He was unable to come back. You really can't make a determination on that until you get an MRI, which will be tomorrow. He certainly wasn't able to come back into this ball game and I doubt (he'll be back) anytime in the near future." Walker, who had 89 catches for 1,382 yards and 12 touchdowns last season, has two years remaining on his contract. If the ACL is torn, Walker could need anywhere from six to 12 months to recover from the injury.
