Seahawks WRs Branch, Engram Set To Make 2008 Debuts

POSTED: 10:22 pm CDT October 3, 2008

(Sports Network) - The Seattle Seahawks will get a much- needed boost this Sunday when wide receivers Deion Branch and Bobby Engram suit up for the first time this season for a matchup with the New York Giants.

The Seahawks have been decimated by injuries at the receiver position with both Branch and Engram missing time to start the season. Nate Burleson suffered a torn ACL in his left knee in a season-opening loss to Buffalo and up-start wideout Ben Obomanu broke his collarbone in the final preseason tuneup and was placed on IR.

Branch, who was sidelined after undergoing reconstructive knee surgery, has been plagued with injuries since coming to Seattle prior to the 2006 season. In three seasons, the 29-year-old has appeared in just 25 games.

Engram suffered a cracked bone in his shoulder during the preseason after setting a franchise record with 94 catches last season.
