Cardinals WR Boldin Has Fractured Sinus

POSTED: 5:41 pm CDT October 1, 2008

(Sports Network) - Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Anquan Boldin sat out practice on Wednesday and is unsure when he will return to the gridiron after sustaining a sinus fracture in the late stages of Sunday's 56-35 loss to the New York Jets.

Boldin was in the end zone trying to haul in a pass from Kurt Warner with 27 seconds left in the contest when Jets safety Eric Smith collided with him on a helmet-to-helmet hit. Boldin crumpled to the turf, motionless for several minutes, but fully conscious.

He was tended to by medical staffs and brought off the field on a backboard and was taken to the hospital for observation.

The league suspended Smith one game and fined him $50,000 for the jarring hit.

Boldin has caught 27 balls for 366 yards and five touchdowns in four games this season.
