Coyotes Ink Perreault

(Sports Network) - The Phoenix Coyotes re-signed center Joel Perreault to a two-year contract on Thursday.

The 6-foot-1, 197-pound Perreault appeared in 49 games for the Coyotes last season and notched seven goals and 10 assists, all of which were career highs.

Over three seasons in the NHL, he has played in 80 games, 11 with St. Louis and the rest with Phoenix, and has totaled nine goals and 13 assists.

Joe Thornton's third-period goal was the difference, and the San Jose Sharks secured the best record in NHL history after 26 games with a 3-2 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets.
