NHL Game Summary - Minnesota At Buffalo

(Sports Network) - Andrew Brunette tied the game on the power play late in the third period and scored the winning goal in the shootout to lift Minnesota to a 2-1 preseason win over the Buffalo Sabres.

Brunette's tally with 2:57 left in the third off assists from Benoit Pouliot and Kim Johnsson evened the contest. Owen Nolan also scored during the shootout for the Wild, who received 28 saves from Niklas Backstrom.

Patrick Lalime made 18 stops for the Sabres, whose lone regulation goal came 13 seconds into the second period from Jochen Hecht. Drew Stafford scored during the shootout phase.
