North Carolina

Asheville -- Here's one of the best shots from North Carolina in my opinion ... what looks like a cute little resort town. Picture is clear and offers four different views of the same place: West, East, North and South. It updates every minute. videobugvideobug +

Charlotte -- Here's a selection of shots of the city; the Tower Cam of the downtown skyline is probably the best. Though there are several options, all the shots have a hazy, "impressionist" feel to them, which makes these cameras worth videobugvideobug

Charlotte -- Here's a shot that is boring most of the time (unless you are interested in the weather) punctuated by bursts of interest when there's a race. It's of the Lowes Motor Speedway, formerly the Charlotte Motor Speedway. There's a large building in the background, likely a covered spot in which crews can work on cars. Even if the camera quality was exquisite, which it's not (makes me feel like I need glasses), it's pretty boring. So, I'll give it videobug +.

Charlotte -- Actually located north of Charlotte on I-77, this one is called the "Hickory Cam," and is a vertigo shot all the way. You may as well be looking out of a blimp you're sitting so high up. When I checked, the sky dominated this picture, with but a bit of landscape shown. It has a slightly hazy overtone to it, but I'm told that may just be due to the hazy, humid skies. All in all, worth only videobugvideobug

Greenville -- Not everyone in North Carolina is fond of Charlotte, or so I'm told. So, here you go: A few shots from East Carolina University, located in Greenville, N.C. Here you get three to four cameras, depending on availability. Two, showing campus plazas offer decent views, large pics, although a bit blurry. If you like viewing college campuses, then you should check this one out. videobug +

Raleigh -- A distant city shot of Raleigh that gives you a feel for the city's skyline. I can't tell how often it updates and there is not much to see at night, although you can see an outline of the downtown buildings, which is more than you can say for a lot of cams at night! Clarity is there for sure. There are also some other nice looking cams available from here. videobugvideobug
