Ohio

Akron -- Here's a nice, humbling shot of the University of Akron. A friendly viewer let me know that the building we thought was a chapel is actually the original Quaker Oats building, which is now a shopping area. In any case, it provides a sense of history and stolidness that comes from a blue-collar town such as the home of Goodyear and Firestone ... the rubber capital of America is this city's roots. The proportion is nice, the quality is sharp and everything is in focus. All in all, worth videobugvideobugvideobug

Cincinnati - This camera, from WLWT-TV, is usually pointed at Paul Brown Stadium -- soon to be home to the NFL team with the worst record of the last decade, the Cincinnati Bengals. The stadium is still under construction, but it's tough to see that in this image. When not pointed at the stadium you might get a nice view of the riverfront. Camera seems to update regularly although how often exactly, I'm not sure. videobugvideobug +

Cincinnati -- Here's another cam from the same TV station as above. This one gives a nice over view of the city. It's sharp, has nice proportion and really gives you a feel for how the city is laid out. Nice cam, worth videobugvideobugvideobug

Cleveland -- Here's a high shot of buildings on Cleveland's skyline. The quality is solid, if a bit blurry, but the angle is odd. It sits high atop a building and offers a shot parallel to the ground so the proportion is a bit off. You're unsure of how high off the ground you are and there is no clear shot of any single building. All in all, worth videobugvideobug +.

Columbus -- Here is a nice shot of what is an impressive downtown skyline. The shot looks down on the tall buildings from 750 feet up on a TV tower located just West of the heart of downtown Columbus. The sky cam is mounted on the East side of the tower and can pan about 145 degrees to the North and South. The image is a bit blurry -- not "clean" -- but when it's looking downtown it's made up for by the proportion of the picture. Worth videobugvideobug +

Columbus -- This Ohio State University Cam offers a much different viewpoint of Columbus than the city scene above. It could almost be any University campus, with the typical path-laden, tree-lined mall-area that separates the buildings. The high quality digital camera, which snaps a new picture every 10 seconds, gives this otherwise mundane shot a rating of videobugvideobug.

Eastlake -- This Lake Erie cam is pretty cool -- once you find it on this site. Check the left nav bar. The cam is pointed northeast toward the harbor lights of the Chagrin River and adjacent Lake Erie. I can almost feel the wind blowing off the water as I look at this cam ... And here I am, sitting in an office instead. Sigh. videobugvideobug + (lb)
