Australia

Melbourne -- Here are a bunch of cams from Melbourne, Australia. I can't give you a link directly to the individual cams (there is a pull-down menu), so the rating is as a whole -- not a difficult task, considering most of the cams are magnificent! The pull-down consists of 47 views of the city, each with comparable quality and all seem up-to-date. I especially liked numbers two, four and 14. Wow! What spectacular shots. I haven't viewed all 47 of them, however, so I'm sure there are many more great shots as well. (lr)

Perth -- This set of shots is really more functional than entertaning, since they're set up to provide views of the surf and of traffic for Australians. And it's a bit of a slow load. Still, shots of surf ain't hlalf-bad, and they are uniformly clean, professional-quality images.

Sydney -- This streaming, controllable cam has 6 preset views of Sydney. There are views of the Opera house and The Sydney Harbor Bridge... very cool. Press "start control" to control the view. It is very slow to load, but once you get it up you'll see why.

Sydney -- A doubleheader here and what a doubleheader it is! These are some gorgeous vista shots of the city's north beaches. Taken from high atop something, This "wide angle" shots show long stretches of beach, offering land jutting out for proportion as well as a nice-looking beach house in one of them. Can't say enough about the beauty. Purported to be updated throughout the day, I have my doubts but it won't stop me (for now) in giving these shots

Sydney -- Another streaming, controllable Web cam ... this one is very similar to the one listed above, but hey, there's nothing wrong with choices. A pull-down menu allows you to view the skyline, the Opera House, Harbour Bridge at ground level (different from the bird's-eye view that the other Sydney cam offers) and a couple of other highlights. You can also zoom in and pan as you please. Warning: it's very popular, so the waiting time to take control may be significant. +
