Is Playing Musical Chairs Too Violent?Britain's Labor Government Calls For Ban Of GameLONDON, Updated 12:00 p.m. EDT May 23, 2000 -- Most people consider the children's game musical chairs to be good, clean fun for children. But is it as harmless as parents think? The booklet's author, Sue Finch, had conceded that the advice might surprise some adults, the London Times reported Tuesday. "A little bit of competition is fine, but with musical chairs, the competition is not fair because it is always the biggest and strongest children who win," Finch said. "Musical statues is better, because everybody wins," she said. The education spokeswoman for the opposition Conservative party slammed the Labor party for distributing the booklet, saying it was "political correctness gone mad."
