New Game Show Set At Mall Of America

Game Show Network Ordered 65 Episodes

HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Posted 1:20 p.m. EST November 7, 2000 -- Minneapolis' Mall of America will be the set for a new game show by the producers of "Shop 'Til You Drop," according to Daily Variety.

Mall of AmericaSony's Game Show Network ordered 65 episodes of "Mall Masters" from Stone Stanley Entertainment. The program, shot on location at the mall, is scheduled to debut on the Game Show Network in 2001, Variety reports.

Mall of America shoppers will be polled on their opinions about everything from pizza toppings to social behavior; on the show, contestants will compete with each other to select the majority opinions.

"Mall Masters" categories are named after the shops located in the Mall, and the questions asked will reflect each store's theme. Once a category is chosen, an interactive "Mall Cam" will relay assistance to contestants from the store for which the category is named.

"'Mall Masters' combines the best of game shows and the Mall of America experience," Game Show Network's vice president of programming Kristin Peace told Variety in announcing the project with Stone Stanley's Scott A. Stone and David G. Stanley.

"We have the country's most unique shopping mall as a stage and the people who travel near and far to shop there as eager contestants," added Stone.
