Adele's '21' breaks Nielsen SoundScan sales record

Adele has double the reason to celebrate coming off her two wins at Tuesday's Brit Awards.

The singer's unstoppable album, "21," has pulled off its largest sales week in its one-year history with 730,000 units sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

That's a 207 percent sales increase over the previous week for the record, which was released in the States last February.

And thanks to the six Grammys she won on February 12, it's the biggest sales week following a Grammys win in Nielsen SoundScan's history, which goes back to 1991.

Norah Jones previously pulled off a similar feat in 2003 with her album, "Come Away With Me," which sold 621,000 copies after she won five Grammys.

And while we're talking about Adele, we'll also point out that "21" has now notched 21 nonconsecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.

In other Brit music news, Beatles fans who've been hoping for ringtones of the band's greatest hits are now in luck: Starting today, iTunes is selling the group's 27 U.K. and U.S. No. 1 hits as ringtones.
