Toronto, ON -- (Sports Network) - Kenny Cooper had two goals after the 80th minute in wild finish at BMO Field to lead FC Dallas to a 2-0 win Sunday over Toronto FC, which ended the match with just nine players and lost for the first time at home this season.Cooper scored his 12th and 13th goals to set a career high and move into a tie with Los Angeles' Landon Donovan for the scoring lead in Major League Soccer. The U.S. striker was close to a move to Europe this week but Dallas didn't want to lose another star player - midfielder Juan Toja transferred to Romania's FC Steaua Bucuresti this week. Cooper rewarded FC Dallas (6-6-7) with two more goals, and has five in his last three games and seven in his last seven. Dallas is 18-1-6 all-time when Cooper scores. Toronto FC (6-8-4) was unbeaten in its nine previous home games this season and 11 games overall dating back to last season. The Red are now scoreless in their last three games at BMO Field and 293 minutes overall. "It feels great to walk out of here with three points. At home, Toronto has a great advantage," Cooper said. "It's great to walk out of here with a win." Sunday's game was headed toward another scoreless tie - Toronto's last two home matches ended that way - until a strange play with about 10 minutes remaining. Toronto's Amado Guevara was running to get back into the area to defend Dallas' Pablo Ricchetti when he knocked him down. After Ricchetti got up, his nose was obviously bloody and already swelling as referee Baldomero Toledo raced in to show Guevara a red card. It was unclear what exactly Guevara did to Ricchetti, but Toledo obviously felt the foul was violent. Guevara responded to the play but didn't say exactly what happened. "Ask the referee. People come here to watch him. Ask him. The red card's fine. Why didn't he give it to [Richetti] as well?" Guevara said. Toronto coach John Carver said Guevara told him Ricchetti "elbowed him in the chest," and he reacted. With a history of poor conduct, it's possible he could be suspended for more than one game. After Guevara finally left the field, Cooper got Toronto FC goalie Greg Sutton to make a move toward the right post and rolled the ball inside the left post to convert the penalty kick. Toledo upset Toronto again when he ejected Marco Velez a few minutes later for dissent. Velez got his second yellow card for the infraction and was ejected. Cooper sealed the victory in the closing seconds by launching a shot from well outside the area sneaked by a diving Sutton and into the left side. Cooper also scored two goals in last week's 4-0 win over Los Angeles. Carver had to keep a few of his players away from the ref after the game and he didn't even shake Toledo's hand. "This is the first time in my life I have never not shook the official's hand after the game," he said. Toronto, which is level on points with Kansas City and New York at the bottom of the Eastern Conference, visits Colorado on Aug. 9. Dallas, unbeaten in its last five, moved into third in the Western Conference and is just two points behind first-place Real Salt Lake. The Hoops will try to continue their surge Aug. 16 at Columbus.
