2009 Montreal, QC -- (Sports Network) - The Minnesota Wild acquired center Kyle Brodziak and a 2009 sixth round draft pick from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for a 2009 fourth round and fifth round draft pick on Day 2 of the NHL's 2009 Draft.Brodziak, 25, had 11 goals and 16 assists in 79 games for the Oilers last season. This after the St. Paul, Alberta native posted career highs of 14 goals and 17 assists in 80 games of his first full season in the league. In parts of four seasons in Edmonton, Brodziak has tallied 26 scores and 33 assists for 59 points in 175 games. The Wild selected goaltender Darcy Kuemper with their sixth round selection (161st overall), while Edmonton used its picks to draft defenseman Kyle Bigos (99th overall) in the fourth round and goaltender Olivier Roy (133rd overall) in the fifth round.
