(Sports Network) - Fifth-seeded Romanian Sorana Cirstea and sixth-seeded Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova were among Monday's first-round winners at the inaugural $220,000 Swedish Open.

Cirstea came from behind to defeat Swedish wild card Johanna Larsson 4-6, 6-2, 7-5, while Pavlyuchenkova fought back to beat American veteran Jill Craybas 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 on the red clay at Bastad Tennis Stadium.

Two other seeds advanced on Day 1, as No. 7 Spaniard Carla Suarez Navarro handled Slovakian Lenka Wienerova 6-0, 7-5 and No. 8 Czech Iveta Benesova overcame Poland's Urszula Radwanska 3-6, 6-2, 6-2.

In other opening-round action, Russian Alla Kudryavtseva leveled Italian Karin Knapp 6-1, 6-1 and Argentine Gisela Dulko drubbed Poland's Marta Domachowska 6-4, 6-0.

The top seeds here are Denmark's Caroline Wozniacki and Slovakian Dominika Cibulkova, a French Open semifinalist last month.

This week's champion will pocket $37,000.
