Minnesota Timberwolves (1-2) At Los Angeles Clippers (0-4), 10:30 P.M.

(Sports Network) - It doesn't rain often in southern California except when the Clippers are involved.

The NBA's living embodiment of Murphy's Law takes to the hardwood again Monday in search of its first win of the season as the Minnesota Timberwolves invade Staples Center.

The Clips, who continue to toil without the No. 1 overall pick Blake Griffin, fell to 0-4 on the young season in LA on Saturday.

Dirk Nowitzki scored 24 points and grabbed nine rebounds in that one, as the Mavericks edged the Clippers, 93-84.

Chris Kaman had a career-high 27 points and 11 rebounds for Los Angeles, which has dropped its first four games of the season. Eric Gordon added 16 points, while Sebastian Telfair ended with 12 points and five rebounds off the bench in defeat.

"We came out in the third quarter and took some bad shots. We weren't moving the ball like we did in the first half. We had opportunities to score but we didn't do a good job of it," Los Angeles head coach Mike Dunleavy said.

Griffin remains on the sidelines with a broken left kneecap and should be out for the next five weeks or so.

The Wolves, meanwhile, opened a short two-game road trip on a losing note Sunday in Phoenix when Grant Hill poured in 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, as the Suns hung on to beat Minnesota, 120-112, at US Airways Center.

Ryan Gomes hit 10-of-13 shots from the field, on his way to 23 points and 15 rebounds for the Timberwolves, who were also coming off a loss to the Cavaliers on Friday.

Al Jefferson added 21 points and eight rebounds. Corey Brewer had 19 points and seven rebounds. Jonny Flynn ended with 11 points in defeat.

Minnesota took two of its three meetings with the Clippers last season, including both tilts at Staples Center.
