New York, NY -- (Sports Network) - Mike Thibault of the Connecticut Sun was named WNBA Coach of the Year on Sunday.

Thibault received 37 out of a possible 56 votes from a national panel of sportswriters and broadcasters. Los Angeles Sparks coach Joe Bryant came in second with 17 votes.

Thibault piloted the Sun to a league-best 26-8 record, including an Eastern Conference-record 12-game winning streak. He also was the winning coach in the All-Star Game

Since joining Connecticut, Thibault has taken the Sun to four straight playoff appearances and consecutive conference titles.
