Wozniacki Cruises; Mirza Falls In Stockholm

Stockholm, Sweden (Sports Network) - Fourth-seeded Dane Caroline Wozniacki was an easy winner, while sixth-seeded Indian Sania Mirza came up a second-round loser Thursday at the $145,000 Nordic Light Open tennis tournament.

Wozniacki waltzed past Finnish wild card Emma Laine 6-1, 6-0, while Mirza succumbed to Czech Iveta Benesova 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 on the hardcourts at Stockholm Olympic Stadium.

Last week's Portoroz runner-up Anabel Medina Garrigues avoided an upset, as the fifth-seeded Spaniard spanked Czech Barbora Zahlavova Strycova 6-1, 6-0.

Two other second-rounders saw France's Camille Pin level Swedish wild card Johanna Larsson 6-3, 6-2 and Spanish veteran Virginia Ruano Pascual rout Italian qualifier Maria Elena Camerin 6-3, 6-2.

Friday's quarterfinals will pit top-seeded and defending Stockholm champion Agnieszka Radwanska against Pin, third-seeded Slovenian Katarina Srebotnik versus Ruano Pascual, Wozniacki against Medina Garrigues and Benesova versus Russian Vera Dushevina, who lost to Radwanska in last year's finale here.

This week's titlist will take home $22,925.
